The Powerful Partners Program is a research-informed, dual-capacity leadership development program that equips families and educators with the knowledge, relationships, confidence, and shared leadership skills needed to work together in improving educational outcomes for every child.

Grounded in the principles of the Dual Capacity-Building Framework for Family-School Partnerships, the program goes beyond traditional family engagement by intentionally strengthening three interconnected capacities:

  • Family Capacity: Guiding the knowledge, confidence, advocacy, and leadership skills families have to actively nurture their children's educational success while contributing to school improvement.

  • School Capacity: Strengthening educators' ability to build authentic and meaningful partnerships with families, facilitate shared leadership, communicate effectively, and create welcoming, inclusive school communities.

  • Relational Capacity: Cultivating the trust, shared understanding, collaborative problem-solving, and collective leadership that enable families and educators to become true partners in educational success.

Through interactive workshops, storytelling, leadership development, collaborative action planning, and ongoing coaching, participants move beyond learning about schools to becoming leaders who strengthen schools, influence systems, and inspire lasting community change.

What begins as a parent's desire to better support their own child often grows into leadership that benefits hundreds of children, strengthens school communities, and builds more equitable educational systems for future generations.
